Myrrh Essential Oil
An early healer and cure for a great number of symptoms and ailments, Myrrh is a remarkable essential oil you will probably run from fast. Its woody and smoky odor is simply astounding.
Found over 3,700 decades back, Myrrh was used by the Ancient Egyptians through the embalming process and in cosmetics and perfumes.
The Myrrh plant is a tiny shrub with knotted branches, trifoliate aromatic leaves and small white blossoms and stems in the Commiphora specific. A pure oleoresin exudes from the back, making a pale yellowish liquid that divides into reddish-brown tears, also called Myrrh.
Native across the Red Sea area in Somalia, Yemen and Ethiopia, small incisions are made into the bark of these trees to increase the return. The gum resin is set through a steam distillation process to extract bottle Myrrh essential oil.
